Roane County Paws is a 501c3 non-profit animal rescue founded ten years ago, January 17, 2015. Roane County Paws is operated by a small group of dedicated volunteers. We work hard to help the animals of Roane County and surrounding areas as we can.  All funding for Roane County Paws is obtained from donations, fundraising and many times our own pockets.  

Fundraising includes Yard Sales, auctions, online sales, a booth at Out of the Attic downtown Harriman, a mobile boutique, adoption events and more. All monies received pay for vetting, food and supplies needed for the animals. Each animal, cat or dog, is fully vetted, on monthly preventions and healthy to the best of our and our veterinarian’s knowledge. 

Roane County Paws is not breed specific. As foster homes are available, we take animals off the streets, from people that have passed away, gone into nursing or retirement homes, owner surrenders, (though we encourage families to keep their animal and do try to help them to be successful and resolve issues, as there are so many that want to surrender their pets), as well as helping shelters as we can and many other scenarios.  

We are dedicated to meeting the needs of all the animals in our care, dog and cat alike, keeping them safe and doing the best we can to place them in the best home with the best family.  

We require applications with references, home visits, meet greets with any other animals in the home of potential adopter.  

Adoption fees: Dogs $150 Cats $50

To date, Roane County Paws has vetted, placed or transferred to larger rescues over 8000 animals. This Is because of volunteers and our community. We will continue to work as hard as we can, for as long as God allows, for these animals.
